23.4.15 Barcelona
We had a late start today. Went to Barcelona Sants to book our train tickets to Mora la nova ans Sitges. A chap approached us for money but we managed to lk away. Today is also St Georges day. it is customary for guys to buy roses for the ladies and the ladies to buy books for the guys. There were a lot of roses and books for sale. It was a real sight to see guys and girls with roses in their hands.We the went to see the Casa Batllo, a building designed by Gaudi.We the stopped at a cafe and had chocolAte drink with croissants to dip.....yummy!
We are becoming very familiar with underground now and can find our way around quite easily. We headed bac home and on the way stopped to have a paella for lunch. At 4.30 we visited the Sagrada Familia, a building that was started 100 years ago and is still being built and will be completed in 2026. An amazing building! We later went to see the Torre Agbar....the bullet shaped building....which is beautifully lit at night.
Buskers at Park Guell

Slept in.
Took underground to Park Guell and wandered around gardens. Some great buskers under viaduct. Bought some heart shaped earrings €3. Didn't get into Gaudi park as fully booked but took some photos from outside. Took several escalators to get up to park. V pleasant temperature .. Slight drizzle as we left.
Had our packed picnic lunch in park . V relaxing.
Took underground to La Rambla .. Amazing markets of fruit and veges from all around the world.
Wandered down to the port and jetty .. Lots of yachts and a big shopping mall. Lots of big fish swimming in sea. Started to get warm. Shared a small gelato. Walked past wax museum and then to Placa Reail - had a latte and watched buskers doing aerobatics. Went home to cook dinner- chicken Brie asparagus tomatoes.
Went back to Placa Reail to watch Flamenco dancing €8 booked on line. Fantastic... So energetic.
